Introducing me
I am a writer, photographer and magazine lover who has lived in Georgia and Texas but ultimately moved back home to central Arkansas. After spending an entire semester in high school writing about war and conflict photojournalism, I began college and declared journalism as my major at Harding University.
I soon became a double major (journalism & marketing), started a blog, and became obsessed with yearbooks and all things print publications. After joining student publications my freshman year I realized my passion in journalism was niche publication feature writing. I also married my high school sweetheart and became Megan Stroud.
After graduating from college, I did the opposite of print and joined the digital marketing and communications team at Harding University and thrived in my love for the school, social media analytics and, unexpectedly, website design. I also earned my MBA while working in the field of digital marketing. In May 2020, I took on full responsibility of managing Harding University’s digital presence including social media, website content and layout, mobile application and video project management. I loved getting to touch so many pieces of Harding’s communication strategy, influence and create organic content for the University’s social media, and constantly work to improve the University’s digital footprint.
After a short stint in the magazine publishing industry in Waco, Texas, I transitioned to a role in paid media — media planning and buying — for Stone Ward, an agency in Little Rock. I have loved agency life and the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients and industries including healthcare, QSR and fitness.
Above all, I value purpose in my career. In my job at Harding University, our team embodied the purpose of the Christian university — creating a "community of mission" where young people could find their "inspired purpose." At Modern Texas Living, we created publications and social media content to support and empower local businesses across all industries to succeed. At Stone Ward, I am able to maximize the budget of businesses large and small to place their brand in front of the people they want to reach. No matter where I am, my goal is to live and work in an environment that strives toward accomplishing an intentional purpose and mission.
